Happy New Year!
Happy 2017 to all our stakeholders!
At HBEF we have been well and busy keeping in line with the new calendar from the Ministry of Education. 2016 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education results were released early December and thus the 2017 recruitment process needed to shift to accomodate the new changes and to ensure that the Beneficiaries selected were able to join their new schools as of 7th January 2017! Below are pictures of some of the beneficiaries receiving their Form 1 first term fees at the HBEF offices in Nairobi.

Giving Tuesday!
Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving back. On the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, (Tuesday, November 29th 2016) you'll have the chance to join people around the world and support a cause close to your heart.
Hilde Back Education Fund is hinged on the small acts that various people have contributed in order to ensure young people in Kenya get education opportunities. 'A small Act' is an Emmy-nominated Hollywood film that captures the story of Hilde Back and Chris Mburu; for the trailer kindly click here: http://asmallact.com/
This #GivingTuesday, help us to fundraise the required school fees for 13 children with no regular sponsors. The total amount of money needed to keep these children in school is $30,000 in order to complete secondary school. We are relying on you to ensure they don't miss the great opportunity to get an education and are able to complete their 4 years secondary school.

Day of the Girl Child
Today marks the International Day of the Girl Child, a United Nations led initiative supporting the more than 1.1 billion girls worldwide who are a powerful force for shaping a sustainable world.
The Day aims to highlight the fact too many girls around the world have their potential and dreams thwarted by violence, discrimination and inequality.
The theme this year is "Girls' Progress = Goals' Progress: A Global Girl Data Movement", calling for action on increasing the availability and analysis of girl-focused and sex-disaggregated data.
